The series has been fondly written and it has always been my intention that the stories entertain as well as transport people back to a time, place/s and (mostly) likeable characters although I do understand that this of itself will not suit everyone. I do wish to express my gratitude to so many of you who have supported the series, I have kept every word of feedback from many ads (mostly on Facebook) and some have been very kind. Even I acknowledge that it is a quirky piece of literature (even quite silly at times!) although those who read the whole series rarely fail to 'get it.' Often, when people get to that part very early on when the mouse speaks, they seem to question their own sanity... But, those of you who have stayed with it, know that there is, surprisingly, a good explanation and believe it is definitely worth the wait. There are few of those that have read the whole series who haven't expressed their enjoyment. In contrast, some have chosen not to read further and hated it. My apologies to them as they seem to get very upset.
When writing, unnecessary gratuitous violence or pages filled with graphic physical congress isn't really of great interest to me and the lack of such has no doubt left some of my audience disappointed. However, ethics, integrity, morality, historical accuracy, good intentions, humour, flawed everyday historical characters, forgiveness, theology and players that are loveable are the things that excite me. Believe me when I tell you that I did not write the Micklegate Series with any intentions of being controversial but, marmite it may have to remain...

n.b almost all the locations in the series can still be seen and visited hence the 'Micklegate Companion to York' which is a tour of the city specific to the places and characters of the series.
